It was reported that Paris Saint-Germain want to link Marcus Rashford with Kylian Mbappe in a stellar attack.
The Ligue 1 champion is set to offer the Manchester United striker a long-term deal to make it happen.
according to Sunday timesInitial talks between the player and the French side were positive.
As a result, PSG are planning to place a massive contract for Rashford before the transfer window closes on September 1.
They will do their best to eliminate the man who knocked them out of the Champions League with a penalty kick in the 94th minute in 2019.
The report adds that new PSG sporting director Louis Campos believes Rashford’s progress has been halted by the inconsistency at Old Trafford.
Rashford, 24, has already played under five coaches since he came onto the scene in February 2016.
The 46-player Three Lions was deployed across the frontline but failed to locate a specific one.
“Manchester United has always been one of the best academies in the world,” Campos – who is credited with plenty of recruitment success at Monaco and Lille in recent years – said in January 2021.
“Rashford is one of the best players in the world.”
His struggles in front of goal coincided with the Red Devils’ recent problems, as he has scored just eight goals in the Premier League since the start of 2021.
Rashford, who has not featured for England since the Euro 2020 final, played a full 90 minutes of 4-0 humiliation on Saturday in Brentford.
United may be in disarray and cannot deliver Champions League football like Paris Saint-Germain.
But they are determined not to sell one of their stellar assets – valued at around £120m – and plan to extend his contract beyond next summer.
Part of our plans
President Erik Ten Hag said: “It’s really important, I’ve seen since day one being here, I’m really happy with him.
“I don’t want to lose him, he is definitely in our plans at Manchester United.”
In comparison, his Parc des Princes counterpart confirmed that his team wanted another striker to add to Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi with Mauro Icardi not wanting.
Christoph Galtier admitted: “We hope that a new striker will arrive.
“With a very busy calendar until November 13, in addition to the World Cup, we obviously wish this arrival.
“I know that the club will not take or collect a player, he must be of real added value and the club is working in that direction.
“I can’t confirm if a striker will arrive at the end of the transfer window, but the club is working hard on this.”
