Ex-Captain of India National Cricket Team and current Chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) Surav Ganguly He said the Indo-Pakistani matches are not special for him and that he views the battle between the two arch-rivals as “just another match”.

In the upcoming 2022 AFC Asian Cup, India’s national cricket team will face Pakistan’s national cricket team in their opening match at Dubai International Stadium on August 28. And the last time the two archrivals competed head-to-head, the Men in Green defeated Men In Blue by 10 wickets in the men’s T20 World Cup match at the 2021 FIFA World Cup in the UAE.

In an interview with India Today, Ganguly downplayed the prospect of facing India and Pakistan in the Asian Cup and said the goal should be to win the tournament.

I see it as the Asian Cup. I don’t see any tournament like India and Pakistan. When I was in my playing days, the India-Pakistan match was just another match for me. “I have always looked forward to winning the championship,” Ganguly told India Today in an exclusive interview.

“India is a good team and they have done well recently and we hope the team will do well in the Asian Cup as well,” he said.

The upcoming Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2022 tournament, which will be the second edition of the tournament, is scheduled to start in September. Four teams are scheduled to participate in the tournament and will play a total of 15 matches.

The second edition of Legends League Cricket is set to start with a special match between India’s Maharaja and World Giants. The special match will take place on September 16, 2022, in Eden Gardens, Kolkata, and from the following day, September 17, the main tournament will begin.

Meanwhile, BCCI Chairman Surav Ganguly will lead the Maharaja of India in the special match against the world giants, which will be led by England national cricket team captain Ewen Morgan.

Ganguly was asked whether or not the audience would be able to see his 60s during a Legends League Cricket match, he laughed at it and replied:

“I don’t know what will happen. I wish I could play the cover engine like before. I hope to make my bat and ball well connected. I will only play one game. You will enjoy the game. It is a match for a good occasion and I am happy to be involved.”
