A furious Darwin Nunez dramatically lost his cool by heading Joachim Andersen twice on his home debut.
The £85m Liverpool striker has been properly sent off for his horrific attack on Crystal Palace’s central midfield.
Andersen and Nunez scrambled off the ball in the Eagles ten minutes into the second half when the Uruguayan put his head in the direction of his opponent.
And then when the ball was cleared, Andersen hit him in the back.
Then the red mist descended upon Nunez as he turned and lit the Dane with a sudden forehead on his chin in a violent, disgusting act.
The angry striker incredibly squared off for Paul Tierney after the referee waved a red card.
Tonight’s captain James Milner ran to the scene to try to calm his angry teammate before finally succumbing and heading towards the tunnel in front of a shocked Anfield.
He completed the nightmare for the first time at home after missing two great scoring chances in the first half.
Nunez will almost certainly face a three-match ban for being sent off – which rules him out of Monday’s trip to Manchester United.
