I’m the ball boy Eden Hazard who kicked him with Chelsea…now I’m worth £40m, I’m 26 and on the Times Rich List thanks to Vodka

Charlie Morgan seemed destined to be forever known as the ball boy who kicked Eden Hazard.

So it is quite a revelation when you know that he now owns an empire worth £40 million.

As a 17-year-old in 2013, the youngster tried to waste time during the League Cup semi-final second leg in Swansea against the Blues.

While working on the field for the Welsh club, he appeared to protect the ball from Hazard as it came off a corner kick.

Chelsea were 2-0 down from the first leg and only had 10 minutes of the second leg to try and find two goals.

Hazard’s frustration with his state of play and Charlie’s antics lead to the teen kicking him in an attempt to free the ball.

The Belgian striker received a red card for violent behaviour, and Swansea went on to send Chelsea off – before lifting the League Cup thanks to a 5-0 win over Bradford at Wembley.

Less than a decade later, Charlie, now 26, has made a name for himself outside of that awkward moment with Hazard.

In fact, he is a millionaire who owns a thriving vodka company worth £40 million.

He founded the company – called Au Vodka – in 2016 along with school friend Jackson Quinn.

They have been steadily increasing their sales but in December 2019 they really started to take off when they moved 10,000 bottles of black grape vodka in one month.

Now Charlie’s empire has seen his name on the Sunday Times Rich List for 2022.

The father of the young entrepreneur is Martin Morgan – manager of the Swansea Club and owner of the Morgan Hotel.

But Charlie has definitely made a name for himself – with a host of celebrities who have been photographed endorsing his product.

They include former soccer player Ronaldinho, club owner Wayne Lineker and boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Charlie even claimed that Mayweather had been in contact with the company.

Talking to Wales In 2021, he said, “We got in touch with Floyd – through a mutual friend of music producer Frost – and were told that Floyd absolutely loves the brand and loves the flavor of black grapes.

“We were asked if he could have a few bottles before he goes home.

“We said yes, well sure, and Floyd said he would post a picture on Instagram as long as we include it when we do something big in America.

“Years ago we were asking ourselves, who would be the best ambassador we could hold the bottle and I think our answer was Floyd, so it’s amazing how it turned out.

“Seeing a brand in the hands of someone you love is crazy.”

Au Vodka now produces 35,000 bottles a day, although Morgan has admitted that some of the flavors didn’t really work.

Both the manuka honey and the orange chocolate flavors were discontinued because they didn’t taste pleasant, while Charlie himself described the banana as “particularly disgusting.”

But this did not stop the company from continuing to grow.

However, Morgan, who is now worth £40m, is still somewhat off the net worth of Hazard – with whom he had that famous squabble all those years ago.

The Real Madrid striker is believed to be worth around £85m, although Morgan’s empire is advancing at a brisk pace, so it may not be long before the former Chelsea player fights back.
