Rangers beat PSV Eindhoven 3-2 on aggregate to reach the Champions League for the first time in 12 years.

And now Jers fans are looking forward to a surprise blow for Manchester United star Ronaldo.

One Rangers fan wrote: “Maybe Ronaldo should join Rangers. He can play football alongside Lord John Lundstram.”

Another added: “Ronaldo should join Rangers, because he wants to play in the Champions League, life in Scotland is great.”

A third said: “Ronaldo wants the Champions League, he signs for Glasgow Rangers.”

Earlier in the window, it was reported that CR7 had asked United to let him leave in search of Champions League football.

But he is now short on options after seeing proposed moves for the likes of Atletico Madrid, Napoli and Sporting Lisbon crumble.

However, the star now has more options as five more clubs joined Rangers in this week’s Champions League qualifiers.

Benfica is the team’s pick but their rivalry with his boyhood club Sporting means the Portuguese club may be out of the question.

That leaves Copenhagen, Dinamo Zagreb, Maccabi Haifa and Viktoria Belzic – and none of them are likely to appeal to Ronaldo.

Marseille is the latest club to be linked with Ronaldo, who could also offer Champions League football, but the rumors have alarmed club president Pablo Longoria who insists that signing players like CR7 is not within the project.
