Indian Railways has announced that it will operate special trains during the Pitru Paksha to transport people. Pitru Paksha is the period of 16 lunar days when Hindus honor their ancestors. This year, Petro Baksha will start on September 10 and end on September 25.
Jaya in Bihar has a traditional significance for Petro Paksha and many people come here during Petro Paksha to pay respects to their ancestors.
Here is the list of trains that Indian Railways will operate during Pitru Paksha:
1) Train No. 01659/01660 Rani Kamlapati (Bhopal) – Gaya Express
From Rani Kamalapati to Gaya 01659 – 9, 14, 19 and 24 September

From Gaya to Rani Kamalappati 01660 – 12, 17 and 22 September
Departure from Gaya 14.15 hours Arrival Rani Kamlapati 10.25 hours
2) Train No. 01709/01710 Jabalpur – Gaya Express
From Jabalpur to Gaya 01709-11, 16 and 21 September
