The arrest was made at the airport, according to David Oval of the Miami Herald, and the arrest warrant was from Texas. The memo concerns “dangerous drugs,” according to Andy Slater of Fox Sports 640.
Prince was arrested on a “fugitive state extradition order,” according to the KSTP in Minnesota.
The Timberwolves said in a statement it was “gathering more information” and was “aware of the alleged report regarding the Taurean Prince”.

Why was he arrested?
The Miami-Dade County Corrections Department held him until Thursday night. Prison records did not include details about his bond or the specific charges he was expected to face in Texas.
According to a person familiar with the case, the accusation stems from traces of drugs discovered during a traffic stop in Tarrant County, Texas. Prior to Thursday, Prince was unaware of the memo.

What’s next for Prince?
This summer, Prince and the Timberwolves reached a two-year, $16 million extension agreement. In his first six seasons in the NBA, he averaged 10.5 points per game while playing for Atlanta, Brooklyn, Cleveland, and now Minnesota. Prince, 28, was jailed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Thursday night after recently agreeing to a two-year, $16 million contract extension with the Timberwolves.
In the NBA since 2016, he has represented the Prince Atlanta Hawks, Brooklyn Nets, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Timberwolves. Last season, he played 69 games for Minnesota.
The 6-foot-6 petite striker, who is from San Antonio, Texas, played college basketball at Baylor University before being selected by the Utah Jazz with the 12th overall pick. Later, he was traded to Atlanta, where he spent three years in play. Later, he played with Cleveland and Brooklyn for a brief period.
Prince traded with Minnesota last year, playing 69 games and scoring an average of 7.3 points in each contest.
